Landscape II ● The City Never Sleeps

The City Never Sleeps was painted from the view on the hill that the Student Services Centre, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) sits on, at night. It overlooks Jurong Island. The area is brightly lit, something that I did not notice prior to this. The mechanical cranes are from NTU's compounds, where the old Innovation Centre was on.

This view is an epitome of Singapore's continuous progress to improve and build our society.

It is a comforting sight for me. I would often go up to this hill to stare at the bright incinerator fire whenever I'm feeling sad. There's something about the fire from the incinerator, as if they are comforting me - that nothing bad lasts forever, that its a guardian star giving light in the darkness of the light.
