Here, I was trying to add more textural brushstrokes in my painting, as opposed to my usual style of painting, which is to create a brushstroke-free, smooth looking artwork. Furthermore, instead of the usual framing of just the head and the top part of the shoulder, I explored a bit on framing and composition. I wanted to capture the relaxed and laid-back-ness of Marla as she leaned to one side of the POÄNG chair, lost in her thoughts.
