We went to Westlite Dormitory (Toh Guan) Pte Ltd to meet the foreign workers and paint their portraits. I painted Harikumar, an Indian from Tamilnadu. Harikumar was really nice and soft spoken. We barely talked because he was shy and I'm socially awkward. It was quite never-wrecking because there were short time duration, pressure from other workers standing around watching and inherent self-consciousness. I wanted to paint him well so that he could send it home to his family when he went back on rare trip back, so that his family have something more to remember him by.
I think the painting looks relatively like him. In hindsight, I should have elongated his face more. Harikumar has a high forehead, which I didn't capture accurately.
